Reid’s other sister, Jakahya, wrote on Facebook: ‘I love you forever and always.

‘We always send our condolences and say we would never imagine ourselves in that situation… and yet here I am. Facing the unimaginable.

‘I just talked to you last night… not even knowing what was waiting on you the very next morning. I’ll never get over this, I’ll never forgive God for taking you away from me.

‘I don’t know what kind of sick plan that man above has but I know losing you couldn’t have been a part of it. I’m disgusted. I’m hurt. But most of all, I’m angry. I will never be ok.’

Murder suspect Green was also charged by police with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in relation to Reid’s death. Green is being held in Ocean County jail.

Reid grew up in New Jersey but has spent his entire NBA career with the Timberwolves, who took a chance on him after he went undrafted in 2019.

He nearly became an NBA champion for the first time last season as his team reached the finals before losing in five against Oklahoma City Thunder.
