Sick Pennsylvania parents made son live in shed, allowed him inside to shower once a week: report

A Pennsylvania couple allegedly forced their son to live in an outdoor shed for the last several months — and were only busted after the depraved dad nearly choked the boy to death, cops said.

Darly, 41, and Grace Sensenig, 42, kicked their 16-year-old son out of their Reinholds home over what they called “inappropriate behaviors,” making him live in a wooden shed on their rural property as punishment since mid-March, local outlet WGAL reported last week, citing police.

The shed has no running water, which forced the boy to relieve himself outdoors and use a hose to quench his thirst — with his parents allowing him to shower indoors once a week, cops said.

The teen was forced to “use money earned from his part-time job to pay for food,” Law and Crime reported, citing the Ephrata Police Department.

Grace Sensenig and her husband face charges of endangering the welfare of children.

Officers from the EPD showed up to the Lancaster County house last Wednesday when the boy called 911 on his dad, who allegedly attacked him when he refused to leave the house to go back to the decrepit digs, according to WGAL.

Cops said Daryl Sensenig tackled his son and throttled him with both hands after the argument that afternoon.

The boy was taken into the protection of extended family, according to reports.

Both parents were taken into custody at the home and face charges of endangering the welfare of children.

Daryl faces an additional charge of simple assault.

The couple was released on a $30,000 bond, local outlets reported.
