Minneapolis mayor speaks out as new video from ICE agent’s phone shows moments before Renee Good shooting

Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey has further berated the government after a woman was fatally shot by an ICE agent on January 7.

An ICE agent shot Renee Good earlier this week as raids took place in her neighborhood. Initial footage showed an agent trying to open her car door before the 37-year-old drove off.

Another agent stood near the car and proceeded to fire at Good, and she died as a result.

The incident sparked a national debate about how law enforcement handles real-life situations like these and the use of unnecessary force.

Many believe Good didn’t need to be shot while Homeland Security have insisted that the actions of the officer in question were justified.

One person who has spoken out in Good’s defense is Jacob Frey. He is the Minnesota city’s 48th mayor, a position he’s held since 2018.

While Kristi Noem said Good ‘weaponized’ her vehicle and has since been branded as a ‘domestic terrorist’, Frey said this narrative was ‘bullsh*t’.

New footage has since come to light of Wednesday’s sad ordeal. The video, which has been obtained by Alpha News, was reportedly taken by an ICE officer at the scene who filmed an interaction with Good on his phone.

Good tells the officer: “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.”

A different officer is then heard telling Good to ‘get out of the f**king car’, but she speeds off.

Shots are then heard, as someone else appears to say ‘f***ing b*tch’.

Frey is now believed to have been shown this specific footage and was asked for his thoughts on it and if it changes his perspective on the matter.

Speaking to an ABC News reporter, he said that an ‘investigation could change or affirm my perspective’, but seemingly not the video.

“We’ve [all got] two eyes, and I can see a person that is trying to leave,” he continued. “I can see an ICE agent that was not run over by a car. That didn’t happen.”

Frey went on to say of the other footage already in the public domain: “[The ICE officer] walked away with a hop in his step from the incident.”

The mayor added: “There’s another person that’s dead. He held on his cell phone. I think that speaks for itself.”
