Pregnant Woman Left Shocked After Her Sonogram Images Have ‘Uncanny’ Resemblance to Her Dog

0

Expectant mom Inês Egner was in for the laugh of a lifetime after a recent sonogram appointment.

The pregnant mom-to-be went viral on TikTok after recounting her recent anatomy scan and sharing one of her sonogram images, which looked eerily like their dog Goulash.

“We were so excited for our anatomy scan…” she wrote over the first slide. “Only to get our photos back and realise [sic]…”

“Our son looks remarkably like our dog 💀,” she added over a split photo of the sonogram image and Goulash.

@inesverse

Now, Egner tells PEOPLE that her first reaction to seeing the “uncanny” similarity was to laugh.

“We went to do the 20-week anatomy sonogram together with my best friend. We were idling in the waiting room for a bit before the doctor called me in and handed me a little folder with all the pictures and the general report of the exam,” says Egner.

“We were skimming through them together, the three of us, as you do, admiring the little hands, the little nose…until we came across that picture and my friend goes, ‘Wait, doesn’t the baby look just like Goulash?’ ” she remembers. “Hard to unsee the uncanny similarity after that.”

“My husband and I instantly started laughing because we could see it too,” continues Egner. “I then sent the photos to my family via text and my father, unprompted, actually said the same thing. He responded to that particular picture and said, ‘The baby looks like Goulash.’ No one can unsee it now!”

Egner adds that she and her husband felt like they had to have a sense of humor about the situation.

“I know you’re meant to say your baby looks beautiful in the sonogram photos, that they look just like their parents and whatnot, but the reality is they are really ugly,” she says. “Alien-esque. Sometimes downright creepy! And in truth, we do like to jokingly refer to the dog as our son, so it was just a fun time overall.”

Their “son” Goulash is going to be 5 in December, and Egner says he’s the best dog she’s ever owned or met.

“I rescued him when he was just 7 months old and we have been inseparable ever since,” she shares. “He loves to cuddle, he’s so gentle, adores everyone, and is never in a bad mood. We have a cat that we brought home a bit over a year ago, and he fell in love with her right away, never even felt jealous.”

“He’s basically a giant baby, if you ask me. I can’t imagine my life without him, and I’m so happy my son will get to have such a doting big brother when he arrives,” adds Egner.

As for whether Goulash knows he’s getting a sibling, Egner tells PEOPLE she’s not sure.

“He’s always lying next to or on me, so I haven’t really noticed him being more clingy than usual,” she says. “He does sniff at the belly sometimes, but I’m not sure that means he understands there’s something going on.”

“What he did notice, however, was a bedroom being all set up! Which I’m convinced he thinks is for him, toys and all.”

Woman Who Raped and Murdered Girl, 12, Then Left Body for Parents to See, Gets Harshest Possible Punishment

0

The woman who raped and murdered a 12-year-old girl and left her body outside the building where her parents worked in Paris was sentenced to life in prison, the harshest possible sentence in France.

Dahbia Benkired was convicted of raping, torturing and killing Lola Daviet, according the BBCBFMTV and The New York Times.

The Times reported that Benkired is the first woman to be sentenced to life in France.

Lola’s body was found in a plastic container in October 2022, outside the building where she and Benkired both lived, according to the BBC.

The girl’s throat had been slit and the numbers “1” and “0” were written on her feet, say authorities.

The Times reported that Benkired lured Lola to her apartment before raping her, mutilating her and eventually fatally suffocating her with duct tape.

According to the BBC, Benkired apologized for her actions.

“I ask for forgiveness and what I did is horrible,” she reportedly said in court. “That’s all I have to say.”

Le Parisien reported that Benkired was seen on surveillance footage carrying the container Lola was later found in.

The outlet further reported that an investigator testified during the trial, saying Benkired stopped at a cafe minutes after leaving the building with the container and spoke with a man who asked her what was inside it.

Benkired reportedly told the man “kidneys,”

Hours later, the man told police about the encounter after hearing the news that a 12-year-old girl was found dead inside a similar trunk.

“Even if this won’t bring my Lola back, we believed in justice and we got it, we got it,” Lola’s mother told reporters, according to the Times, before thanking the court.

Suspect with lengthy rap sheet arrested for alleged Pam Bondi ‘murder-for-hire’ scheme: FBI

0

A Minnesota man with a history of violent offenses is facing federal charges after allegedly posting a TikTok video that offered a $45,000 bounty for the killing of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, prompting an FBI investigation that spanned two states.

According to a newly filed affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, Tyler Maxon Avalos posted an image of Bondi with a red sniper-scope dot on her forehead and the caption “WANTED: Pam Bondi — REWARD: $45,000 — DEAD OR ALIVE (Preferably Dead).”

Underneath the photo, Avalos allegedly wrote: “Cough cough. When they don’t serve us, then what?”

The post, which was flagged by another TikTok user in Detroit, triggered a federal probe that led agents to a St. Paul apartment building, where they arrested Avalos on Thursday.

Digital records obtained from TikTok, Google and Comcast allegedly tied the account “@liminalvoidslip” to Avalos, who agents say has a prior history of stalking and domestic violence.

Court records cited in the FBI affidavit show that Avalos, who was born in 1995, has a history of violent offenses in both Minnesota and Florida.

In July 2022, Avalos was convicted of felony stalking in Dakota County, Minnesota, after repeatedly contacting and harassing a victim in violation of state law.

Before that, in August 2016, the affidavit said he was convicted of third-degree felony domestic battery in Polk County, Florida, stemming from an assault on a household or family member.

Earlier that same year, in April 2016, Avalos was charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation in Dakota County, but ultimately convicted of a misdemeanor domestic assault after the charge was reduced.

The FBI affidavit said agents traced the online alias through a Google-linked Samsung device, IP logs and subscriber data, ultimately locating Avalos’ residence and confirming his name on the apartment mailbox.

His TikTok account, investigators noted, also featured anarchist symbols and links to anti-government literature.

His profile also brandished a link to “An Anarchist FAQ book,” according to court filings.

Investigators allege the viral “murder-for-hire” threat was not a joke or political hyperbole, but a deliberate and interstate communication of violence, a federal crime.

Mom Unexpectedly Gives Birth in the Bathroom with Help from Her 2-Year-Old Son

“At one point, when I was looking down, he put his little hand under my chin and lifted my face up to look him in the eye,” mom Shannen Krahn, 31, tells PEOPLE

When a middle school teacher unexpectedly delivered her baby girl in the bathroom of her Wisconsin home last month, her toddler was by her side, offering sweet encouragement.

“At one point, when I was looking down, he put his little hand under my chin and lifted my face up to look him in the eye,” mom Shannen Krahn, 31, tells PEOPLE of her son Max.

“Focusing on him kept my brain away from the pain,” says Krahn, though she hopes the experience doesn’t have a negative impact on her son, who turned 2 earlier this month.

The birthing experience was a surprising, but happy ending to an easy pregnancy.

Krahn, a math teacher, was almost 39 weeks pregnant with daughter Brooklynn Suzanne, her second child, when she finished work for the day on Sept. 15.

As she was leaving school she started to feel a bit of “discomfort,” but the pain was inconsistent and unlike the birthing pains she’d experienced with Max.

The expectant mom told her husband Mitch, a supervisor at a chemical manufacturing company, to head out for his night shift and that she’d keep him updated if she felt like she needed to go to the hospital.

“I didn’t realize how fast it was going to progress,” she says.

After she got to their house near Madison, she took a shower and realized her contractions were picking up.

As she gave her son a bath she started timing her contractions. Then she called her husband of six years. Even though she wasn’t feeling “super worried,” she told Mitch, 33, that he needed to come home so they could go to the hospital.

Knowing he’d arrive in 45 minutes, Krahn then called Mitch’s cousin, who planned on watching Max while they were away.

As she waited for the other adults to arrive, she headed to the bedroom with her toddler to grab her bathroom bag and her pillow. She was inside the bathroom when a “huge contraction” hit and her water broke. For once, the scene was just like what’s portrayed in the movies.

“It was like a water balloon dropping on the floor,” she recalls. “It was crazy.”

With Max watching from atop the bed, his mom took a few minutes to recover from the shock. At that point, her contractions were constant. Krahn says her 2-year-old son kept patting her arm and saying “Mama” from the bed.

“Yep, we’re good. Mama’s good,” she told her son as she urged him to stay where he was. “We’re good. We got this.”

She made it to the bathroom and her young son followed her inside.

“I got myself down on my hands and knees,” says Krahn, who remembers thinking, “I’m not getting out of this bathroom without having this baby.”

She was unable to call for help because she’d left her phone in the kitchen. In fact, as it rang the background, she pushed three times and gave birth to her daughter.

Through it all, Max was there, calling her name and gently touching her arm. He said, “Oh, baby,” when Brooklynn emerged.

“I kind of got her up on my chest and she let out a good cry,” says Krahn of those initial minutes after giving birth. “That was just a huge weight off the shoulders.”

Within five minutes, she heard Mitch open the door with a confused, “Hello?” Initially, he didn’t know where his pregnant wife and son had disappeared to.

“We made eye contact,” says Krahn, who remembers telling her husband, “Hi, we have a baby.”

The shock quickly wore off for both parents. The new mom was transported to the hospital by ambulance, while Max stayed home with Mitch’s cousin.

After Krahn and her newborn were checked out, the couple received encouraging news. Their daughter — who got her middle name from Krahn’s late grandmother — weighed a healthy 7 lbs., 4 oz. at birth. Within 24 hours, the mother and baby were discharged.

Weeks later, Max is still enthralled by his new sister.

“He calls her, ‘My baby,’ ” says the proud mom, who adds that her son loves to help hold baby Brooklynn and watch during baths and feedings. “He wants to know where she is all the time.”

One of the proud mom’s favorite moments is when Max sits between her legs, leaning on a pillow, while she nurses Brooklynn in a recliner.

“We’re just sitting there, snuggling, the three of us,” says Krahn. “Like they say, your love doesn’t divide when you have more kids. It just multiplies.”

‘Mind-blowing’ footage captures moment pilot flies into eye of Hurricane Melissa as ‘storm of the century’ closes in on Jamaica

0

A pilot has flown into the eye of Storm Melissa in ‘mind-blowing’ new footage as the hurricane inches closer to Jamaica.

‘Catastrophic’ force winds are expected to hit the Caribbean island in a matter of hours as Melissa makes its approach today (Tuesday October 28).

The category five hurricane is forecast to have maximum sustained winds of around 280 kilometers an hour (175 miles per hour) as it makes landfall.

In comparison, 2015’s Hurricane Patricia, the most powerful tropical cyclone on record, hit maximum sustained winds of 345 kilometers an hour (215 miles per hour) at its peak.

The strongest hurricane on the planet this year, Melissa has been dubbed the ‘storm of the century’.

The US National Hurricane Center has warned ‘catastrophic flash flooding, landslides and destructive winds’ will cause ‘widespread infrastructure damage, power and communication outages, and isolated communities’.

“Total structural failure is possible near the path of Melissa’s center. Along the southern coast, life-threatening storm surge and damaging waves are expected through the day,” an update on their website continued.

It concluded that ‘failure to act’ may result in ‘serious injury or loss of life.’

Despite the colossal risk, one storm-chaser uploaded some incredible footage as he flew into the eye of Storm Melissa.

Going by the Twitter handle @FlynonymousWX, with the username Tropical Cowboy of Danger, the pilot made five fly-throughs on Monday (October 27).

One video shows the view of the Atlantic Ocean from the hurricane while another perspective looks down into the storm’s eye with a ‘swirl of clouds.’

The pilot had two decades of flying with the US Air Force and has spent the last decade on a ‘hurricane hunter mission’.

Responding to the clips posted by @FlynonymousWX, one social media user said: “Genuinely the clearest video of any eye-wall I’ve ever seen.”

“Hate the destruction & fear they bring, but from a pure nature standpoint, they are just mind blowing to look at.”

A second weighed in: “This is totally bonkers brilliant! Thanks for sharing the video!” as a third described it as ‘pure epicness’.

Back in Jamaica, three people have died so far while preparing for the storm’s approach, Jamaica’s minister of health said on Monday (October 27).

Chris Tufton said there had been three deaths ‘linked to cutting down of trees, and in one instance electrocution because of, or due to, the cutting down of a tree.’

A further 15 people have been injured, mostly those falling from rooftops and trees in an attempt to brace for the storm’s impact.

The Jamaican government imposed a mandatory evacuation order across several parts of the country as the storm nears.

While some have evacuated, others have taken refuge in state storm shelters with some staying put but bordering up their homes.

After Jamaica, Storm Melissa is forecast to move toward eastern Cuba, then the Bahamas and possibly Turks & Caicos.

A 37-year-old woman from Toolooa, Australia, has been charged with three counts of murder and two counts of arson following the Oct. 15 blaze, police have said

A 37-year-old woman in Australia has been charged with murder and arson offenses following a house fire that resulted in the deaths of two young boys and a woman, police have said.

Police and emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a Whiting Street property in the Gladstone suburb of Toolooa, Queensland, shortly before 6 a.m. local time on Oct. 15, Queensland Police said in a news release.

“Upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed, and the fire was extinguished a short time later,” police said, confirming that three people were “located deceased within the residence.”

“The bodies of a 36-year-old woman and 13-year-old boy from Toolooa, and a 12-year-old boy from Barney Point were identified,” the release shared on Friday, Oct. 24 stated.

Police added, “A 37-year-old woman from Toolooa has been charged with three counts of murder, and two counts of arson.”

Queensland Police didn’t have any additional information to add at this time when contacted by PEOPLE, and a police spokesperson wasn’t able to confirm the suspect’s name.

The Toolooa woman facing the charges has been identified as Contessa Leigh Marie Richardson by outlets including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and the Australian Associated Press (AAP).

According to the ABC, victims Jordana Johnson, 36, her son Jordan Norris, 13, and his friend Chazz Mather, 12, died in the fire.

Chazz was believed to have been visiting for a sleepover at the time of the tragedy, per the AAP.

The news agency stated that it took fire crews almost two hours to extinguish the blaze, with search efforts for the three victims being hampered by the property’s top story collapsing.

Richardson, who was injured while escaping the fire, faced a brief bedside hearing in the hospital on Friday. She’s set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Nov. 24, the AAP reported.

“Any investigation that involves a fire, unfortunately, leaves very little evidence for us to go on,” acting Detective Inspector Brett Richard said after the woman was charged. He didn’t go into detail about a possible motive for the alleged crime, per the AAP.

“I’m not at liberty to say the specifics of the events … however, there is sufficient evidence to commence proceedings,” Richard said, declining to comment on whether the three victims were locked inside the home, the news agency reported.

GoFundMe page paid tribute to the “three beautiful souls” lost in the fire.

A description read, “Jordana Johnson, a loving mother who tragically lost her life alongside her beloved son, Jordan Norris and his best mate Chazz Mather, who were inseparable.”

“Jordana was a devoted mother with a big heart. She loved life and her three children were her world. Jordan was a playful, fun and cheeky kid who was protective of his sisters, mother and friends. Chazz was an outgoing loving soul with a cheeky attitude who always looked out for the people he loved,” the message added.

The page read, “The recent housefire in Gladstone has ripped apart not only two families but the entire community,” stating, “The family want to thank the community and the outpouring of support we have recieved around the country who have expressed their condolences, love and support during this time [sic].”

“The donations recieved [sic] will go directly to Jordana’s two daughters to start over who lost everything of their mother’s home and Chazz’s mother and 7 siblings as both families navigate and rebuild after such a devastating loss,” the description concluded.

Over 1,000 people also gathered at Barney Point Beach in Yallarm — the traditional name for Gladstone — on Saturday, Oct. 25 to honor the victims with traditional dancing, as well as a smoking ceremony, an ocean cleansing ceremony and a water blessing, the ABC reported. The location is a special healing place for Gooreng Gooreng people, the outlet noted.

The GoFundMe page had raised over $22,000 as of Monday, Oct. 27.

Jets legend Nick Mangold dead at 41

0

The New York Jets announced on Sunday that legendary center Nick Mangold has died due to complications from kidney disease.

Mangold, who played for the Jets from 2006-2016 and was a seven-time All-Pro, was 41.

“Nick was more than a legendary center,” Jets owner Woody Johnson said in a statement. “He was the heartbeat of our offensive line for a decade and a beloved teammate whose leadership and toughness defined an era of Jets football. Off the field, Nick’s wit, warmth, and unwavering loyalty made him a cherished member of our extended Jets family.”

Mangold announced earlier this month that he needs a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with “a genetic defect that has led to chronic kidney disease” in 2006.

That was the same year the Jets drafted him No. 29 overall out of Ohio State.

“I always knew this day would come, but I thought I would have had more time. Unfortunately, I do not have any family able to donate at this time, so this is why I’m reaching out to you, our NY Jets and Ohio State communities. I am in need of a kidney donor with type O blood,” the 41-year-old wrote.

“I am deeply grateful to anyone that would consider donating. Most of all, I’m thankful for my family, who have been my rock every step of the way. This situation has reminded me how lucky I am to have such an amazing family, friends, and community behind me.

Mangold spent all 11 of his NFL seasons with the Jets, making seven Pro Bowls and being honored as a two-time first-team All-Pro. He was also a catalyst on the Jets’ offensive line that reached back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010.

“Nick was the embodiment of consistency, strength, and leadership,” Jets Vice Chairman Christopher Johnson said in a statement. “For over a decade, he anchored our offensive line with unmatched skill and determination, earning the respect of teammates, opponents, and fans alike. His contributions on the field were extraordinary — but it was his character, humility, and humor off the field that made him unforgettable.”

Mangold, an Ohio native, expressed his love for the Jets last November, where he felt honored to have played for just one franchise.

“Being able to finish out my career here, being able to play for only one team is something really special to me,” Mangold said. “It’s a great team to be a part of. This fan base is as passionate as they come, loyal as all get-out.”

“Nick Mangold will forever be a Jet,” Woody Johnson said.

One of Barnard student Tessa Majors’ killers-still in trouble

0

The 13-year-old boy given a slap on the wrist in the infamous murder of Barnard College student Tessa Majors continued his life of violence after his release from juvenile detention — thanks to the Raise the Age law — adding an attempted murder and a vicious biting attack on a jail guard to his rap sheet, The Post has learned.

The boy, Zyairr Davis, and two older pals, Rashaun Weaver and Luciano Lewis, both 14, sent shockwaves across Gotham when they viciously descended on the college freshman as she strolled through Morningside Park at around 7 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2019.

Majors, 18, an aspiring punk-rock musician, fought like hell, biting Weaver in the finger and causing him to fly into a rage, stabbing her as feathers flew out of her down jacket. Davis admitted to picking up a knife dropped by Weaver and handing it back to him.

Tessa Majors was murdered on her way back to her dorm at Barnard College on Dec. 11, 2019 as she walked in Harlem’s Morningside Park.
Zyairr Davis, who was 13 at the time, was one of three teens arrested and charged in her death.
Obtained by the New York Post

Lewis held Majors in a headlock, and Weaver repeatedly knifed her, piercing her heart and leaving her to die.

Because of Raise the Age, which was pushed by lefty lawmakers and raised the age of criminal responsibility to 18 in an attempt to keep children out of jail, Davis was tried in family court and received only 18 months in juvenile detention. The two other teens were charged as adults, with Weaver getting 14 years to life and Lewis nine years to life.

It’s not clear when Davis, who pled guilty to first-degree robbery, got out of lockup because juvenile records aren’t public, but by 2023 he was involved in another shocking crime.

This time, Davis and two new pals allegedly fired multiple shots into a crowd in Harlem on April 8. The shooting was apparent retaliation for the murder of Jaylen Duncan an hour earlier by Messiah Nantwi, a member of the local OTN Goodfellas gang, according to a Manhattan criminal complaint.

Davis, who was 16 at the time, ran from the murder scene to the Lincoln Houses to get a gun after the shooting, according to the complaint. He and two other teens then opened fire on a crowd about two blocks away from the Duncan murder scene, according to cops.

“Each aimed and fired multiple gunshots in the direction of the group of people standing on the southeast corner of Lenox Avenue and West 131st Street,” the complaint states.

Nantwi was arrested April 11, 2023, and charged with killing Duncan, police said. He died in prison this year.

Majors’ parents said the aspiring punk-rock musician fought to keep her phone because it contained songs she had written and wanted to record over winter break.

Davis was locked up at the Horizon Juvenile Detention Center in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx on an attempted murder charge.

He was arrested yet again after a fight with other detainees around 11 a.m. Sept. 17, according to a Bronx Criminal Court complaint.

During the brawl, he allegedly attacked a youth counselor with the Administration for Children’s Services, which runs the Horizon center, the complaint states.

The college student was walking through Morningside Park when one of the teens ran up behind her and kicked her in the back.
She bit the Weaver’s finger during the altercation, sending him into a rage.
Matthew McDermott

Davis was caught on video biting the specialist “on the right arm” and charged with assault and harassment, records show.

ACS moved Davis to Rikers Island as a result of the incident, said his lawyer Neville Mitchell, an Independent Democratic write-in candidate for mayor.

“I don’t know that he got the help needed when he was there for 18 months,” Mitchell said.

“I’m not sure what to what extent they can change what’s happened to this young man in the first 13 years of life,” the lawyer said. “And then he comes out, and he goes right back into the community around the same sort of influences.”

Retired NYPD Assistant Commissioner of Youth Services Kevin O’Connor blamed the Raise the Age law.

“They always go back to ‘He was a poor kid who had a bad childhood,’” O’Connor said. “That’s not the victim’s problem. That’s where government is supposed to step in and do it’s job. You commit a murder you go to jail.”

Majors’ parents submitted a statement for Weaver’s trial, revealing that their daughter fought fiercely to keep her iPhone because it contained three years’ worth of songs she’d written.

DNA from one of her fingernail clippings matched stabber Rashan Weaver.
csuarez

They wrote that they have “no idea what it is to fight with three males — all of them larger than she — for over a minute, escaping two times only to be surrounded and targeted again.”

“They have no idea what it’s like to try and hail an Uber while sitting on a city bench after being stabbed. No idea what it is like to bleed to death on a New York City street in the presence of strangers,” the parents wrote in the statement, the last time they publicly addressed the crime.
