American Idol, itself based on the British Pop Idol, has usually seen a number of celebrity judges, usually with a background in music, help various would-be “idols” get a chance at making their dreams come true. Most recently, Season 23 saw Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie in the role.
Over the years, however, several prominent names have taken on the role. These have included the likes of Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Harry Connick Jr., and Mariah Carey.
Country singer Keith Urban has also served as one of the series’ judges, first appearing in Season 12 and departing after Season 15. He has also served as a coach on the Australian version of The Voice.
In his personal life, Urban is also known for his marriage to Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman. However, recent news has some fans wondering if Urban might soon be leaving the country.
Kidman has recently applied for residency in Portugal, suggesting that she is planning on spending more time in the European country. According to SIC Noticias, the actress has submitted paperwork to the country’s Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum.
Reportedly, Kidman could be seen leaving a private jet in Cascais, a wealthy seaside enclave around Lisbon. The actress has reportedly been looking into the country’s gated communities.
At this time, Kidman’s husband, Keith Urban, did not appear in any of the documents by name. However, a source recently shared an explanation with The New York Post.

According to the insider, this was partially due to protocol. The source explained, “Keith was unable to be in Portugal for this appointment as he is currently on tour in the US and it is mandatory for applicants to be physically present in order to apply for the visa.”
However, the source claimed, “He is scheduled to submit his application at a later date that works with his tour schedule.”

That said, the source didn’t believe that the celebrity couple was planning on making any trip to Portugal a permanent one. They explained, “While Nicole and Keith own a home in Portugal, their primary residence will continue to be in Nashville.”
Reportedly, Kidman has shown interest in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club. The development already has a bit of a history. It is a known favorite for various celebrities, including George Clooney and Paris Hilton, as well as royalty like Princess Eugenie.
