Russia ‘preparing to invade new country’ as expert issues severe warning

Vladimir Putin is ‘preparing to invade a new country’ amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, according to one expert.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, and while world leaders such as President Donald Trump have attempted to deescalate the situation with ceasefire talks, the war seemingly has no end in sight.

Trump has made it clear he is unhappy with Vladimir Putin and warned him that Russia could face further sanctions if it doesn’t take steps towards peace in Ukraine.

The POTUS initially set a 50-day timeline for Putin to enter negotiations, though speaking alongside British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Monday (July 28), Trump announced it is now ’10 or 12′ days from now, as per BBC News.

According to one expert however, Putin is not interested in a ceasefire in Ukraine, but instead, he supposedly has his eyes on another European country.

US intelligence expert Rebekah Koffler wrote in The Telegraph: “As a military intelligence analyst specialising in Putin’s thinking and Russian military strategy, I agree with Rutte’s assessment about Russia’s readiness for another offensive military campaign in just a few years.

“I’m less convinced that a NATO country is likely to be the Kremlin’s next target, unless the alliance directly intervenes in Ukraine by deploying troops onto the battlefield.

“Nevertheless, what NATO does or doesn’t do in the next few years could be highly significant in determining whether Putin decides to attack another post-Soviet state – such as Moldova.”

Speaking outside his hotel in Turnberry, Scotland on Monday, Trump said he was ‘very disappointed’ with Putin, as the Russian leader continues to fire the missiles.

Standing with Prime Minister Starmer, Trump said: “We thought we had it settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever.

“You have bodies lying all over the street, and I say that’s not the way to do it. So we’ll see what happens with that.”

Meanwhile, the conflict in Ukraine continues, with Russian drone and missile strikes hitting the country’s north-eastern Sumy region on Sunday (July 27), wounding four people.

Russia officials claim they have shot down 50 Ukrainian drones, with one person killed and three others injured near St Petersburg.

Trump and Starmer are expected to speak about the ongoing war during a meeting on Monday, as well as the situation in Gaza.
