You Won’t Believe Why Morgan Freeman Wore a Glove at the Oscars – It’s Heartbreaking!

There was a lot to see at the 2023 Oscars last night.

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” won big, and actors like Brendan Fraser, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Yeoh, and Ke Huy Quan also had their moments of glory.

But amidst all the excitement and awards, there was a moment involving Morgan Freeman that many might have missed. Thankfully, some sharp-eyed fans noticed and talked about it on social media.

Morgan Freeman appeared on stage with actress Margot Robbie to celebrate 100 years of Warner Brothers. However, he wore a black glove on his left hand that went up to his elbow. The reason for this choice was quite sad.

Morgan Freeman is a well-known and beloved actor. So when he showed up at the Oscars with a black glove, fans were curious. Was it a fashion choice or a reference to a past role?

Actually, there’s a more serious reason. According to reports, Freeman, who is now 85, has been wearing the glove since 2008 after he was in a bad car accident in Mississippi.

Morgan Freeman, famous for his role in “Se7en,” had a serious car accident one night while driving home. His car went off the road, flipped several times, and finally stopped in a ditch.

According to The Guardian, paramedics arrived quickly but had to use special tools to get Freeman out of the car. He was awake the whole time and even made jokes with the rescuers.

Freeman, who was 71 years old then, had serious injuries and had to be flown to a hospital in Memphis, which was over 100 miles away from the accident.

He had multiple broken bones and needed a four-hour surgery to fix his left arm. Sadly, the accident left him with permanent nerve damage and a lot of pain in his shoulder. Because of this, Freeman couldn’t move his arm properly, causing it to swell. He now has to wear a compression glove to manage these symptoms.

In 2010, two years after the accident, Freeman told People magazine that he never fully recovered from the injury. “If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up,” he explained. “Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”

I had no idea about Morgan Freeman’s terrible car accident or the injury he still deals with today!

He’s one of my favorite actors ever. His voice always lifts my mood, no matter how down I am. How about you? Are you a fan of Morgan Freeman? If so, leave a comment and let us know.
