Who was Renee Nicole Good, the Minneapolis woman killed by an ICE agent?

Renee Nicole Good, the 37-year-old driver fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, was a stay-at-home mother of three who had only recently moved to the city.

Good was killed after she allegedly tried to mow down the ICE agent with her SUV during an immigration operation in the residential neighborhood on Wednesday – prompting the officer to open fire in self-defense, the feds said.

Graphic footage from the scene captured the moment Good appeared to plow into the officer just seconds before multiple shots were fired through her window.

The Trump administration were quick to condemn Good’s actions, saying she was part of a “mob of agitators” trying to thwart the latest immigration crackdown.

Here is what we know so far about her:

She was born in Colorado Springs, Co., but had only recently moved to the Windy City, according to her family.

Good had three children: a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son with her first husband and a 6-year-old son from her second marriage.

She moved to Valley Falls, Kansas, with her parents shortly after her second husband, who suffered from PTSD, died in 2023.

Good then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, before relocating to Minnesota last year.

After relocating, she claimed on social media to be “experiencing Minneapolis” — displaying a Pride flag emoji on her Instagram account.

In social media accounts, Good described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom.”

Her ex-husband, who didn’t want to be named amid fears for their children’s safety, said Good was a stay-at-home mother, but previously worked as a dental assistant and at a credit union.

Her mom, Donna Granger, told the Minnesota Star Tribune her daughter was “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

“She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being,” she said.

Does Good have a history of activism?

Her ex-husband has claimed she wasn’t an activist and that he had never known her to participate in a protest of any kind.

She appears to have a clean record and hasn’t been charged with anything involving law enforcement beyond a traffic ticket.

Her ex described her as a devoted Christian who had taken part in youth mission trips to Northern Ireland when she was younger.

What is her educational background?

In high school, Good participated in chorus, where she showed off a love for singing before studying vocal performance in college, according to relatives.

She attended Old Dominion University in Virginia where she studied creative writing. Good graduated from the College of Arts and Letters with a degree in English in 2020.

In 2020, Good received an Academy of American Poets Prize for her poem titled “On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs.”

Old Dominion University president Brian O. Hemphill penned a tribute in the wake of her death, calling for “Renee’s life be a reminder of what unites us: freedom, love, and peace.”

“My hope is for compassion, healing, and reflection at a time that is becoming one of the darkest and most uncertain periods in our nation’s history,” he wrote.

“This is yet another clear example that fear and violence have sadly become commonplace in our nation. Indeed, this tragedy reflects the deep strain being felt in countless communities across our nation,” Hemphill added.

“As citizens, it is our duty and right to call upon leaders and officials to restore civility in all facets of our lives, especially at the hands of those who are entrusted to protect and serve.”

What the feds say happened:

The Department of Homeland Security quickly painted Good as a “domestic terrorist” and accused her of trying to kill the federal agent.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem alleged Good had been part of a group of protesters who had been “stalking and impeding” ICE agents throughout the day.

Footage taken by bystanders captured an officer approaching Good’s car and demanding she open the door before grabbing the handle.

As she accelerated, a different ICE officer standing in front of the vehicle pulled his weapon and immediately fires at least two shots into the vehicle at close range.
