Tom Selleck is having difficulty walking without help and needs to lose some weight. He says these issues are affecting his health.

Tom Selleck is going through physical therapy, but he’s still having a tough time walking, according to sources.

A source says he has recent scars on his knees from surgery, but it seems like he isn’t healing well. The 79-year-old actor was recently seen looking downcast in the San Fernando Valley.

Earlier this year, a video showed Tom with noticeable scars on both knees. In the clip, he struggled to walk after leaving the gym and had to hold onto his truck for support.

Tom Selleck is getting help from specialists and doing rehab at the gym, but it’s a slow process. A source says he is unsteady on his feet and struggles to walk without support.

While it’s encouraging that he is working on improving his health, the source mentions that if he doesn’t get better, he might have to use a walker soon.

The insider also says that Tom is doing the right thing by going to physical therapy, but it’s taking a toll on him as he approaches 80. They suggest that he really needs to lose weight because carrying extra pounds is hard on his joints.

Another source shared that Tom has been eating comfort food since his show Blue Bloods was canceled.

Medical experts say that Tom Selleck, who is 6 feet 4 inches tall, now weighs around 350 pounds. This is a gain of 150 pounds since his days on Magnum, P.I. in the 1980s.

A source mentioned, “He’s bigger than before, and it’s sad to see him struggling to fit behind the wheel of his car.”

Fans were disappointed when Blue Bloods was canceled after its 14th season in June, and it really upset Tom, too. An insider explained, “The cast felt like family to him, and they often went out for nice meals toward the end of the show. It seems like he’s still indulging in that lifestyle based on how he looks!”

Even though Tom says he plans to work out, his loved ones are worried that his current diet is putting his health in danger. The insider said, “He needs to lose weight. It’s obvious, but it won’t be easy. This unexpected retirement hasn’t been good for him.”

Recently, Tom spoke about the end of Blue Bloods, telling TV Insider, “I’m kind of frustrated.” He explained that it will take him a long time to adjust to the change, saying, “I realized I needed to get to bed early to prepare for my lines for Monday. But now, there is no Monday.”
