Sharon Osbourne reveals heartbreaking 10-word message Ozzy said to her before death aged 76

Sharon Osbourne has detailed a heartbreaking 10-word message Ozzy Osbourne said after his farewell gig in Birmingham last month.

The Black Sabbath frontman died in July aged 76 at his UK estate after living with Parkinson’s disease in the latter years of his life.

Ozzy performed in his hometown of Birmingham with Black Sabbath just 17 days before his death in the ‘Back to the Beginning’ farewell concert.

As he performed in front of a crowd of 40,000+ fans, Ozzy said: “You’ve no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The Brummie raised a whopping $190 million for charity from the gig, with the profits being equally split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Cure Parkinson’s, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Sharon spoke to Pollstar before Ozzy’s death and shared an emotional reaction the ‘Prince of Darkness’ had after taking to the stage at a sold-out Villa Park.

“He turned around and he said to me that night, he said, ‘I had no idea that so many people liked me’,” Sharon recalled. “Ozzy’s always been in his own bubble.”

While Ozzy may have been surprised by the reception he received at his farewell gig, such a reaction from the crowd didn’t surprise the former X Factor judge.

Sharon added: “Oh my God, the metal fans are the most loyal fans in the world! When they’re a fan, you’ve got them for life. They don’t go anywhere.

“It was a huge success, because it was a phenomenal event. It was the first time, I think, that anybody’s gone into retirement and done it, where the show is streamed and it goes to charity. So it’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it.”

Earlier this week, it was confirmed Ozzy passed away as a result of a heart attack.

In a death certificate submitted by Osbourne’s daughter, Aimée Rose Osbourne, a cardiac arrest was listed as the Black Sabbath singer’s cause of death. It also listed coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction as ‘joint causes’.

The document, as per the New York Times, said Osbourne suffered the cardiac arrest ‘out of hospital’.

Fans of Ozzy were able to say goodbye to the heavy mental legend during a procession through the streets of Birmingham on July 30, with music lovers shouting ‘Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy’ as a hearse carrying the star’s coffin passed through Broad Street.
