Pamela Anderson Says ‘the Vibes Were Real’ with Liam Neeson: We Were ‘Blowing Off Steam’ Together

Pamela Anderson is opening up further about her relationship with Liam Neeson.

In a clip from Anderson’s appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live to promote her Canada tourism campaign, host Cohen, 57, said it “bugged” him that some speculated that her romance with costar Neeson, 73, was a ploy to promote their movie The Naked Gun.

“So many people asked me because of my long relationship with him,” said Cohen, “and I was like, ‘The vibes were real.’ “

“The vibes were real,” agreed Anderson, adding of the skepticism: “I didn’t like that either. I don’t like the idea of doing publicity — we don’t do any publicity stunts. I mean, he doesn’t do that kind of thing, and I don’t do that kind of thing.”

She continued, “You know, you fall in love in love stories, in movies. You just do. And he’s such an amazing guy. But, you know, it takes two to tango.”

Cohen shared that “at my annual Christmas dinner with Liam and the boys, but I had heard you had wrapped [Naked Gun] and you actually did spend some time after you wrapped maybe…” Anderson then filled in the blank, “Blowing off steam?”

“Right,” he said. “Blowing off steam, sniffing around each other as one might say. Yeah, exactly.” She added, “Enjoying each other’s company.”

“He’s a wonderful man,” Anderson added of Neeson. “He’s so supportive of my career too, which is, you know, I’ve never had that, so it’s nice. I feel like it’s a healthy relationship. It’s a friendship. It’s a loving friendship, which is really nice. I really admire him.”

They spent an “intimate week” together at his home in Upstate New York during that time period, she said. “I had my own room,” Anderson recalled. “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.”

The pair also dined “at a tiny French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson,’ ” she said of the brief romance. They spent time in his garden, where, as she said, “I tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint … I was happy to help, and he appreciated.”

After what Anderson described as a “romantic lost week,” the pair “went our separate ways to work on other films,” she told PEOPLE.

“We were having fun,” she said at the time, calling their connection “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.”

A source close to The Naked Gun told PEOPLE in July that Anderson and Neeson had “a budding romance in the early stages,” but reports surfaced in August claiming the relationship was a publicity stunt to promote their movie.

“Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt,” a source told PEOPLE in August. “They have a great time. Neither of them needs the publicity.”

Anderson previously denied she and Neeson faked a romantic relationship for press attention. “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings,’ ” she said, adding, “I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.”

Andy Cohen’s full sit-down with Pamela Anderson will air Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. ET.
