Court documents do not specify if the victim is the suspect’s child

An Ohio woman is in jail after authorities charged her with the rape of a 6-year-old child.
According to Henry County, Ohio, jail records, Mara Silva is currently in custody and is facing charges of child endangerment and rape.
In an indictment obtained by PEOPLE, authorities allege that Silva, 32, of Liberty Center, Ohio, engaged in sexual conduct with the victim from Oct. 16 through Oct. 29.
The indictment was filed on Dec. 17, court records indicate, and she has been in custody since the Dec. 20.
Silva is officially charge with first-degree rape, a felony, and child endangerment, a misdemeanor.
Silva does not currently have an attorney listed and it is not immediately clear if she has entered a plea. Her bail was set at $100,000 and she remains in custody.
Prosecutors also filed a motion requesting a protection order against Silva.
According to the motion obtained by PEOPLE, prosecutors checked a box that the order would be in protection of a family or household member.
It is not clear what the relationship between Silva and the victim is.
The judge presiding over the case granted the protection order in the event that Silva is released on bail.
Further court records indicate that Silva has also been engaged in divorce proceedings since 2023. The records indicate that Silva was married with children.
