Today, Michael Jackson would have turned 66 years old. His former bodyguard has shared what he believes really led to his death. The pop star passed away at just 50 years old in 2009 due to serious health problems. Bill Whitefield, Jackson’s bodyguard, mentioned that he was “sad a lot” before his untimely death. He experienced a lot of stress and sadness after going through some tough challenges.
Whitefield spoke to The U.S. Sun and said, “He would never hurt a child; that isn’t the man I knew.” He joined Jackson’s security team in 2006 and became a “very good friend.” He noticed how Jackson acted around kids after the child abuse allegations. “That wasn’t his character. You had to be around him to really know him, and I was there. So, no, that wasn’t him. It still surprises me when I hear things like that,” Whitefield said. He expressed sadness that Jackson died before he could share his side of the story.
“I worked for #MichaelJackson at his #Neverland ranch as part of his security team for more than 14 years. During that time I saw several thousand children and grown-ups visiting Neverland.”

Back in 1993, the musician was investigated by LAPD over the allegations of molesting a 13-year-old teen boy Jordan Chandler according to The Express. Furthermore, in 2003 he was charged with a similar case however, the identity of the victim was shrouded by the investigating agency. This was followed by Jackson being tried for a child sex abuse case in 2005 wherein the victim Gavin Arvizo claimed that he gave him and his brother alcohol and then showed them pornography. He was acquitted of the cases the same year. However, he was left in shock after the four-month-long trial to prove his innocence.

The singer of “Billie Jean” was deeply affected by the constant accusations against him for molestation and sexual abuse of minors. Just three weeks before his concert film “This Is It” was set to be released on June 25, 2009, he died from an overdose of a certain drug. His doctor, Conrad Murray, found him unconscious on his bedroom floor at 2:26 PM. Murray reportedly tried to revive him for about five to ten minutes before calling for help. Jackson was declared dead at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

The autopsy of the pop star showed that he died from a dangerous mix of propofol and lorazepam, according to the Daily Mail. In November 2011, his doctor, Murray, was sentenced to four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter because he prescribed the drugs to Jackson. The musician used these drugs to cope with his insomnia as he practiced long hours to deliver amazing performances around the world. Jackson’s death created a gap in the music industry that no one could fill. Whitefield also co-wrote a book with other bodyguards titled Remember The Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days.
