Maluma Stops Concert to Scold Mom Who Brought Baby Without Ear Protection: ‘That Baby Doesn’t Want to Be There’

Maluma is calling out a fan for bringing a baby to one of his concerts.

Over the weekend, the 31-year-old Colombian singer stopped his show in Mexico City to scold a mom who brought a young child to the performance without ear protection.

“With all due respect… how old are they?” Maluma asked the mother in Spanish, as seen in a video of the interaction shared on X. “A year old? Less? A year.”

“Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f—— high?” he questioned, per a translation from Variety. “Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here.”

“Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility,” the musician continued. “You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

The “Sobrio” performer welcomed his first child, a daughter named Paris Londoño Gomez, in March 2024 with girlfriend Susana Gomez.

The couple announced their daughter’s arrival in a post on Instagram. “On March 9th at 8:23 A.M. the love of our lives Paris Londoño Gomez was born. Thank you all for your birthday messages and well wishes,” they wrote in Spanish.

Since then, Maluma (whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias) has been candid about his love for being a father, and has spoken about wanting to be an example for his daughter.

“Everything changed. And I love it,” Maluma told Allure in 2024 about becoming a dad. “Now, I wake up every day with the desire to conquer the world. I know I have to f—— kill it.”

“For Paris, nothing is impossible. You have to lead by example,” the “Hawái” singer added. “I go to bed every night that I can at 9 and wake up at 5:30 to hit the gym because I want to be healthy. You want to live forever for your kids. I want to make her proud.”

Maluma’s performance in Mexico City came amid the final leg of his “+Pretty +Dirty World Tour,” which is set to end on Aug. 23 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The musician also recently performed at Mexico’s Rosarito Beach for the Baja Beach Festival, where he headlined alongside J Balvin and Don Omar.
