JD Vance’s wife Usha addresses split rumors after she was spotted without ring following ‘inappropriate’ Erika Kirk hug

Usha Vance has addressed the speculation about her marriage after being spotted without her wedding ring.

Usha is the wife of JD Vance, who is currently serving as the vice president of the United States. They married in 2014 and share three children together.

The Vances were friends with Charlie Kirk and have played a huge part in supporting his wife Erika following his assassination in September, with Usha on some occasions being seen holding Erika’s hand.

And JD has been there for her too and recently appeared at a Turning Point USA event that he’d been invited to by Erika.

When introducing him, Erika compared the vice president to her late husband.

She said: “No one will ever replace my husband. But I do see some similarities of my husband in JD — in Vice President JD Vance. I do. And that’s why I am so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight.”

JD then came on stage and the pair shared an embrace that many went on to deem as ‘inappropriate’ as Erika put her hand on the back of JD’s head. The moment quickly went viral.

Calling it ‘weird’, someone wrote on Twitter: “I have never wanted to touch any man’s hair during a hug other than my husbands. This is weird.”

Another person went on to question: “Why would she touch the VP of the United States hair/head in an embrace?”

Elsewhere, a body language expert said the hug was ‘super intimate’. Traci Brown told the HuffPost about Erika putting her fingers through JD’s hair: “That’s a super-intimate move, but beyond that, it controls his attention — so, she’s controlling what he’s looking at.”

After the controversial hug, Usha was seen without her wedding ring. On Wednesday (November 19), she visited Camp Lejeune, a military training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina, with First Lady Melania Trump.

Usha wore a long burgundy, turtle-neck dress to the event and while she remembered to put some earrings in, she seemingly forgot her wedding band.

This sparked speculation that her and JD’s marriage was on the rocks, but a rep for the 39-year-old has denied that this is the case.

In a statement to People, they said that Usha is ‘a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes’.

Usha and JD’s children are Ewan, eight, and Vivek, five, and three-year-old Mirabel.
