Will Smith isn’t the only one making a musical comeback; his son, Jaden Smith, is also getting ready to return to music.
The 26-year-old musician and model has released several singles this year and recently announced a new project. On September 26, which is also Will’s 56th birthday, Jaden shared on social media that he will release a project called “2024: A Case Study Of The Long Term Effects Of Young Love” on October 18. He posted a clip showing someone putting up a poster with the project’s title.
Many fans believe this could be a new album, his first in four years since CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 in 2020. He teased the album earlier this year with a single called “Roses,” his first in three years after “Bye” in 2021.
Jaden’s post got a like from his sister, Willow Smith, who is also releasing a special version of her album soon. Fans responded with excitement, asking if this is the album they’ve been waiting for and expressing their enthusiasm for new music from Jaden in 2024.
There’s no official word yet on whether this is an actual album, a new single, or something else, but fans on social media are guessing it will be his latest album.
In a recent chat with High Snobiety, when he was asked if an album was coming, Jaden simply replied, “What album?” He also talked about what fans can look forward to in this new phase of his music.
“I’m just trying to continue the story,” he said, referring to the title of his upcoming project. “That’s really what it’s all about.”
He explained, “This is a case study of the long-term effects of young love. I’ve been reflecting on everything I’ve experienced in my life, and now I’m ready to share what I’ve learned.”
Earlier this year, Will Smith released his comeback single called “You Can Make It.” It’s an inspirational piano ballad that encourages people. He also performed this song during the BET Awards.
Recently, he was one of the main performers at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil, where he had another chance to sing his latest song, “Work of Art,” which features Jaden.
“Work of Art” was the first official musical collaboration between Will and Jaden, except for when Jaden was featured in the Reggaeton remix of his 2018 song “Icon” with Nicky Jam. The two have worked together on screen before, most famously in the well-received movie The Pursuit of Happyness in 2006 and the less popular film After Earth in 2013.
