Grief Street Podcaster Jordy Glassner Dies at Age 34 After Documenting Journey with Brain Cancer

Jordy Glassner, a podcaster who shared her life living with an aggressive brain tumor, died on Jan. 13. She was 34.

“It is with profound sadness that we share that on Tuesday afternoon, Jordy Glassner passed away peacefully at her home,” read a Jan. 14 statement posted to Glassner’s Instagram account. “She was simply the best.”

Glassner was the cohost of Grief Street, a podcast started in April 2024 by Glassner and Erica Rozmid, who shared weekly episodes about “pivotal moments of grief” in their lives and their nearly three-decade-long friendship, per the description of their debut video.

Glassner — a therapist who was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer, in August 2023 — and Rozmid — a psychologist who experienced late-term pregnancy loss — discussed their experiences with loss and grief and regularly welcomed guests to open up about their own experiences as well.

The duo shared weekly episodes until October.

In a touching post after the news of Glassner’s death was made public, Rozmid shared a tribute to her late friend.

“There will never be enough words to describe the pain of losing my person- or for the heartbreak of watching GBM take so much from her over the last 2.5 years,” she wrote. “I was robbed of raising my children alongside hers.”

Continued Rozmid on Instagram: “I have never known a big life moment without Jordy. She’s been there since we were 5 years old, walking me to the nurse’s office. All I want is to call her and ask how I’m supposed to survive this life without her. I miss my person deeply. 💔”

The Jan. 14 statement asked followers to share memories of Glassner in the comments instead of private messages, as “everyone deserves to know how much she meant to the world.”

“It was a blessing to work with you and I am heartbroken to hear you are no longer with us,” wrote one. “Praying for you and your family.”

“Jordy was such an important part in my motherhood journey,” penned another. “She gave so many of us confidence and assured us we were doing a great job.”

Shared a third: “I love you Jordy. I will miss you for the rest of my life. You didn’t deserve this fate but you were so brave ❤️❤️❤️”
