Diddy was arrested last week and is facing serious federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting people for prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday, and his lawyers offered $50 million for bail and to stay at home, but two judges denied this request. He has been ordered to stay in jail until his trial date. Diddy maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing.
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Freddy P shared his thoughts on Diddy’s arrest, saying he was surprised by the news. He noted, “When you see Puff, it’s kind of a surprise,” but added, “It’s been long overdue.” Freddy P was part of Da Band, which was formed by P Diddy and signed to his label, Bad Boy Entertainment, and their journey was shown in three seasons of MTV’s Making the Band 2.
Freddy P explained that it felt like the authorities had to step in and do something about Diddy because he seemed to have gotten away with too much for too long. He said, “It got to the point where it felt like they forced the feds to do their job because if they didn’t, everyone was asking, ‘Do you even exist?’”
Freddy P admitted that he used to feel a lot of anger toward Diddy because of financial issues, but he doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him. He said, “This is a sensitive topic because there are a lot of victims involved. At the end of the day, he’s still someone’s father.” He emphasized that many people want Diddy to understand how much pain he has caused others.
Freddy P believes Diddy is facing these problems now because he couldn’t let go of his power and status in the industry. He said, “Everything he’s going through right now is because he couldn’t live his truth. The more he tried to hide, the worse it got.”
Freddy P claimed that Diddy used his influence in the music industry to take advantage of struggling artists. He said, “Imagine Diddy, being charming, telling these artists who are having money problems, ‘Don’t worry, come to the island with me.’ He would offer them things to maintain their lifestyle.” Freddy P added that he knows of other rappers who have secrets because they got caught up in similar situations with Diddy.
He also mentioned that he’s working on a project with Netflix that will reveal more about Diddy. He said, “I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s going to be shocking. There are many people who have been hurt by this, and when the documentary comes out, it’s going to surprise everyone.”
