Elon Musk reveals why he ‘reconciled’ with Trump at Charlie Kirk memorial

Elon Musk gave a two-word response on why he appeared to ‘reconcile’ with Donald Trump at Charlie Kirk’s memorial.

Thousands of people attended State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to pay their respects to the Conservative political activist, who was shot dead on September 10.

Kirk had been speaking at a Utah Valley University event on behalf of his non-profit organization, Turning Point USA, when he was assassinated by a single bullet to the neck in front of around 3,000 people.

Tyler Robinson, 22, has since been charged with seven counts in connection to his killing, including aggravated murder.

Despite a rocky few months for their relationship, both US President Trump and tech billionaire Musk were able to put their differences aside for Kirk’s memorial.

The duo were seen sat together chatting, appearing friendly, during the event on Sunday (September 21).

A lip reader interpreted a warm exchange of words between the pair.

And Musk took to his social media site X to mark the reunion.

Posting a photo of himself and Trump talking, Musk seemed to explain the reason behind their reunion, writing: “For Charlie.”

Later, he reposted a tweet from Fox News, which told of how Erika Kirk ‘forgave’ the man suspected of killing her husband.

“I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And is what Charlie would do,” the post said.

In another post, Musk wrote: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

Following the memorial, Trump also addressed the situation with Musk.

He told the press: “Elon came over and said hello. I thought it was nice he came up and had a little conversation. We had a very good relationship. But it was nice that he came down.”

Musk and Trump had a public falling-out earlier this year over a number of crucial issues.

On Trump’s inauguration, Musk was appointed head of the budget-busting Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) – a role he left this May amid some worrying Tesla financial results.

The duo then appeared to disagree on the benefits of Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, with Musk warning it could cost taxpayers billions and ultimately increase the US’ debt.

However, Trump hit back at Musk and called him a ‘bulls*** artist’ and suggested the South African billionaire should go back to where he came from. Yikes.

Musk went on to post comments claiming that authorities had more information regarding Trump’s alleged involvement with prolific pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump and Epstein appeared to have been close in the early 2000s but quickly fell out and Trump denies being privy to his crimes.

During his presidential campaign, Trump promised to release certain sought-after Epstein files – which now, apparently, never even existed.

Following the Epstein comments, the POTUS threatened to review government contracts held by Musk’s companies, while Musk floated the idea of forming a new political party – the America Party.

But it appears the pair have turned over a new leaf, having reunited at Kirk’s memorial.
