Ellen DeGeneres had young Tayt Andersen on her show several times before her show ended. She shared his story, which was uplifting because he needed a heart transplant. Unfortunately, Tayt has now been diagnosed with cancer, and a GoFundMe has been set up to help him. Keep reading to learn more.
Ellen DeGeneres Landed A Netflix Show
The famous talk show host and comedian, Ellen DeGeneres, has shown her kind side many times, but she still lost her show. However, she landed a new show on Netflix. There are rumors that she might not continue with stand-up comedy after that.
Some people think she might retire and move to Rwanda, where she started the Ellen DeGeneres Dian Fossey Campus to help protect gorillas. (Oops, that might have been one of her less nice moments!) Still, many people still love her. This week, she gave a shout-out to Tayt Andersen, who has appeared on her show every year as he went through medical treatments to save his life.
Tayt Andersen Was Called Ellen’s ‘Boyfriend’
The adorable kid born with half a heart became close to Ellen DeGeneres, and she even called him her only “boyfriend.” He faced many challenges, but he eventually received a heart transplant. This week, some old clips of him on The Ellen Show were put together and shared on Instagram, touching many fans. This was done to celebrate Tayt’s 19th birthday.
Sadly, no one could have predicted that nine years after his inspiring story on The Ellen Show, Tayt would have to fight for his life again. He has been diagnosed with cancer, which seems to be aggressive. A GoFundMe page run by “AricandChrissy Becker” was set up for him, and the admin shared an update on August 1:
This is Tayt Andersen. He has faced more challenges than most people can imagine. He was born with half a heart and had more than a dozen heart surgeries before he turned nine. He received a heart transplant when he was 10 years old and later developed a condition from being immunocompromised. Just last week, we learned that he has bladder cancer and less than a 30% chance of living another five years.
The boy who won the hearts of many Ellen DeGeneres fans, Tayt Andersen, just started his chemotherapy, according to an update on September 18. He will have a biopsy next to check if the chemo is working against the cancer, which is known for coming back.
So far, the GoFundMe set up to help pay for his treatment has raised $745 out of a goal of $25,000, with 14 people donating.

Oh no, what type of cancer? I feel so sorry for him and his family. I’m French and live in France, so I didn’t know anything about him until today.
