Brad Pitt is feeling devastated because his kids are dropping his surname, and he thinks his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, is a major reason behind this decision, according to reports.
Earlier this month, it was reported that their 18-year-old daughter, Shiloh, filed to remove “Pitt” from her surname, making her Shiloh Jolie. She did this as soon as she became a legal adult.
Shiloh is one of Jolie and Pitt’s six children, but she’s not the only one having issues with her father. Recently, 15-year-old Vivienne was listed in the official Playbill for The Outsiders – a show she helped her mother produce – as Vivienne Jolie, not Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
Additionally, 19-year-old Zahara, one of their three adopted children, reportedly goes by Zahara Jolie now. TMZ also reported that their oldest child, Maddox, 22, doesn’t use “Pitt” in his surname either.
Their son Pax made headlines with an Instagram post in 2020, which recently resurfaced. In it, he accused Pitt of making life difficult for those closest to him, stating, “You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell.”
According to Little Things, the breakdown in Brad’s relationships with his children has deeply affected him. A source said, “Brad was devastated by this choice. To him, it was more than a change of name — it was a symbol of a deeper estrangement that has been brewing for years.”
Meanwhile, another source close to the family said that Shiloh hired her own lawyer to handle her name change, emphasizing that it was her decision alone.
However, according to the source cited by Little Things, Brad strongly believes that his estrangement from his kids is mainly because of Angelina.
The source explained, “He feels that the negative things Angelina tells the kids make it very hard for him to reconnect with them.”
“With Angelina spending time with the children every day, Brad finds it almost impossible to change how they see him.”
Since their divorce in 2019, the once-famous couple known as “Brangelina” has been caught up in legal battles and media disputes, with many allegations surfacing recently.
In April this year, Angelina Jolie submitted papers to the Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Brad Pitt of physical abuse, which he has strongly denied. They are also still arguing over the sale of a French winery they bought together.
