A man from Birmingham, England, has become the second person in history to be recorded as having three penises.
After he passed away, the 78-year-old donated his body to the University of Birmingham Medical School for study.
Students at the school made the shocking discovery as they were in the process of dissection.
The man lived his whole life without knowing he had two extra penises.
Doctors from the medical school said that only about one in five or six million people are born with more than one penis. There have been just over 100 known cases.
The condition, called diphallia, is a rare genetic disorder where a man is born with two penises. It’s only been officially recorded about 100 times worldwide.
The 78-year-old man is now the second person ever recorded to have three penises, a condition called triphallia.
Doctors found that only one of the three penises worked, while the other two were attached under the skin of his scrotum. That’s why he never knew about them.
When doctors examined his body, they found “two small extra penises.”
All three penises shared one urethra, which passed through the extra penises before going through the main one.
Researchers from the Journal of Medical Case Reports said, “These unusual abnormalities in the man’s penis may not have been noticed during his life.”
They also mentioned that he might have had some health issues because of the abnormal anatomy, like urinary infections, trouble with erections, or fertility problems.
The last case of triphallia happened in 2020, when a three-month-old baby was found to have the same rare condition as the 78-year-old man from Birmingham.
