A woman named Jenna shared how her ex-boyfriend, Mitchell, had a head injury that made him forget they had broken up — and this actually led them to get back together.
In February 2020, Jenna broke up with Mitchell because she felt “too overwhelmed with life.” But just a day after their breakup, Mitchell was in an accident and got a serious concussion. He didn’t remember that they had broken up.
This unusual situation gave them a chance to reconnect, and they ended up back together in the end.
The break-up and accident
The day after they broke up, Mitchell went skiing at Beaver Mountain in Utah.
Mitchell, who was 22 years old, tried to do a jump while skiing, but it was very icy. When he went off the jump, he ended up landing on his head and blacked out.
When he woke up, he had a bad concussion and couldn’t remember that Jenna had broken up with him. He called her and asked if she could come pick him up.
The confusing aftermath
Jenna said that after his concussion, Mitchell kept texting her and wanting to hang out, which confused her since they had broken up.
She thought maybe he was just trying hard to stay friends. One day, after Jenna mentioned she and her roommates were having a tough day, Mitchell even brought them ice cream to cheer them up.
Jenna started to regret breaking up with him. Nervously, she decided to swallow her pride and asked if they could start dating again.
That’s when they both realized Mitchell had no idea they had even broken up in the first place.
Jenna explained that she had told Mitchell about their breakup and reminded him of the conversation they had in her car when they decided to end things.
Mitchell told her he remembered talking in the car but didn’t remember what they talked about.
Luckily, Mitchell thought it was really funny that he’d forgotten they broke up, which made Jenna feel relieved.
She said, “It was easy to get back together because, for him, we had never really broken up!”

The happy ending
Five months later, Jenna and Mitchell got engaged, and in September 2020, they got married.
Jenna shared that in his wedding speech, Mitchell mentioned how he didn’t remember their breakup but was so thankful everything worked out.
Now, they’re both 27, and whenever people ask about their love story, this is their favorite part to share. They felt like they were always meant to be together.
