Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump have reportedly agreed on a rule in their relationship after confirming that they are officially an item.
Despite being one of the most famous and decorated golfers in the world, Woods’ personal life has been a somewhat turbulent one over the years.
However, the PGA winner confirmed earlier this year that he is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., with the couple ‘hard launching’ on social media.
They do not live far apart, with there being just a 20-minute drive between their two homes in Palm Beach, Florida. But while they have gone public with their relationship, there is still one very particular rule that the couple have reportedly agreed to.
Of course, dating when you are both very famous people then dating is another kettle of fish entirely.
At home, they are said to like spending evenings together having a takeout, watching movies, and seeing their children. But what is this rule that they have agreed to?
It’s that they have agreed to not make big public displays of affection when out and about.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Movie nights, binge-watching shows, eating takeout – that makes them happy. They’re honestly just like everyone else in their dating life.
“When they do go out in public, like they have for two different golf tournaments, they lay off the PDA. Tiger has done a lot of crazy things with people, flown around the world. So has Vanessa. It can be a lot.
“Now it’s nice to have someone who wants to stay home and chill. It’s a nice change for him.”
Woods’ friends reportedly warned him about getting into a relationship with Vanessa due to her connections to the Trump family, with all the potential political controversy that might come with that.
But despite this, the source claimed that the famous golfer has ‘always been publicly apolitical’, and this might be seen as taking a public stance.
They added: “He has his beliefs and opinions, of course, but he doesn’t make a public spectacle of his political leanings. And dating someone in a political family looks like he’s choosing a side.”
As for the pair’s children, the source claimed they ‘understood’ the situation and are ‘happy’.
They explained that the concern about the Woods entering into the relationship was ‘people thinking about his professional brand’. But while they have the support of their families, the couple have nonetheless decided that it’s probably best for them to avoid any public displays of affection.
