Trump White House Shares TikTok Set to Taylor Swift’s ‘Fate of Ophelia’: ‘OUR VIBES’

Donald Trump is using Taylor Swift‘s latest song on his social media.

On Monday, Nov. 3, the White House shared a video on its official TikTok channel that featured the 35-year-old pop star’s single “The Fate of Ophelia,” off her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The clip, which amassed more than 4 million views and over 500,000 likes at the time of publishing, played the song in the background over images of Washington, D.C., the U.S. Army and photos of Trump, 79, first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance.

Each image attempted to correlate with a line of the song in an attempt to wrongly associate its lyrics with a story about Trump’s return to office after the 2024 election.

“Don’t care where the hell you been,” the lyrics proclaimed over a photo of Trump’s 2023 mug shot from when he was indicted on charges related to attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

The lyrics “‘Cause now you’re mine” were accompanied by a picture of Trump kissing the American flag.

The final image was of Trump working at a McDonald’s, seemingly taken during his most recent campaign. While the lyrics were “the fate of Ophelia,” the image was superimposed with text that read “the fate of America.”

“OUR VIBES,” the White House captioned the post.

Trump expressed his opinion on Swift during the 2024 election campaign after she endorsed his rival, Kamala Harris. This came after the president had shared AI-generated images of Swift seemingly endorsing him.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote of the images in her September endorsement of Harris. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

She continued, clarifying, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” she wrote.

At the time, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to declare: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Trump continued to lambast the pop star in the months that followed. In April 2025, he poked fun at her over her fiancé Travis Kelce‘s loss in the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’ ” Trump wrote to his followers the following month.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the comment during a press briefing, clarifying, “Look, he is speaking about Taylor Swift’s political views and how perhaps it has impacted the support of the American public for her work. I will leave it at that.”

However, Trump appeared to soften his long-lasting grudge against Swift after she and Kelce announced their engagement in August.

“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” the president said during livestreamed Cabinet meeting that month. “I think he’s a great player and a great guy, and I think she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”
