Bridges was known online for comedic POV-style videos, where he would re-enact everyday scenarios that his audience of nearly over 2 million across Instagram and TikTok could relate to.

Chelsey would also frequently appear in Bridges’ videos, portraying characters in his POVs.

“I’m really sorry to get on and tell you this, this way,” Chelsey said in her announcement, breaking down into tears as she spoke. “I think if I wait any longer, I’m not going to be able to do it.”

“Who you saw online was just the characters that he created,” she said. “He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them.”

In his videos, Steve would often jokingly portray random characters like “baby daddies” or “solar panel salesmen” in a light, facetious and mocking way — characters that Chelsey said could not have been more different from Steve in real life.

“He was the most attentive father, and the best, the best husband,” she continued. “And the greatest, sweetest man. And thanks to you internet, he’s been able to live his dream of making people laugh. I am so thankful that he got to do that.”

Going on, Chelsey encouraged viewers to be kind, saying that her children were online.

“I’m not going to tell my children that they can’t grieve online,” she said. “I will probably grieve online too. This is life now. Please never take it for granted and try to live your dreams every day. Love your family and take care of yourself.”

Fans rushed to the comments to express their sadness at the news.

“I am SO very sorry for your loss. As a healthcare worker I absolutely loved his characters because they were SO real,” one commenter wrote. “My thoughts are with you and your family. ❤️❤️”

“The world got a little darker,” another added. “He really was my favorite content creator. Glad to experience his comedy.”
